Lifeline Screening Saves Lives All the Time

Posted by WA6 on

Lifeline Screening is a long standing company that provides affordable and convenient medical screening and testing to the general public at large. Many folks don’t always get their annual checkups from a doctor because of the expense and the entire medical process. Even though it would be the best thing for them to do that, if they don’t feel sick or have symptoms they don’t bother.

That is where the Lifeline Screening process comes into the process. Lifeline provides medical screening for all of the direst diseases and conditions and all of the results are made available to the doctor of the individual’s choice.

One of the favorites of the methods used for screening ultrasound. This is the same technology used to detect submarines in World War II as sound waves are directed to the part of the body that the technician wishes to investigate. The result on the screen is a look inside of a working organ in the human body. Ultrasound is effective in the observation of blood flow and where blockages may be occurring.

Ultrasound can also depict the places in the body where a possible aneurysm is forming, test for ankle-brachial screening for peripheral artery disease and test for bone density which can indicate the risk for osteoporosis.

It only takes a little to learn a lot with the finger-stick blood screening test. Just a prick on a finger pad to get a drop or two of blood will yield an entire lipid blood panel which measures the cholesterol levels for both HDL and LDL cholesterol. The blood-glucose levels are also measured to test for diabetes, C-reactive proteins are measured to detect cardiovascular disease, and the levels of liver enzymes are measured to detect liver disease.

A limited electrocardiograph will determine if a person has atrial fibrillation. This is also called A-Fib for short, and this means that the heart is beating irregularly. This can be very serious as irregular heartbeat can throw off blood clots which can cause a stroke. A person’s doctor needs to be notified very quickly if an individual has A-Fib.

All the tests given by Lifeline Screening are non-invasive and do not require the removal of any clothing in order to obtain the test results.
